Franz Marc

German expressionist painter who found his own expressive form in colour.
He painted many colorful animals: from blue, red and yellow horses, to yellow cows, red deer and many other animals such as fox, dog, cat, monkey, deer and even the armadillo. Animals were the main theme of his artistic production.

It was influenced by Macke and Kandinski, whom it met in 1909.  While in 1911 he joined the artistic group "Der blaue Reiter".

He died in the war in 1916 at the age of 36.
